Forever Friends

Where are you going without me,
Said the cloud to the sunbeam as it
Gaily danced across the sky.
I am going to kiss the flowers and
join the birds in song, and warm the
Butterflies.
I won't be long, she sang out,
Her voice was light and gay,
I cannot tarry to talk any longer,
For a sunbeam, this is a perfect day.
I'll tickle the wings of bumble bees,
Dance with lady slipper who do
Just as they please...then
I'll tiptoe through the meadows and
Play hopscotch in a gentle rain;
When the day is almost over, I will
Come back to play hide and seek and
Do cartwheels with you again!
Do you promised asked the little cloud,
Just about to cry...don't worry my
Friend said the sunbeam, it will be a
Rainbow day when I return and we'll
Waltz across the sky.

Enchanting poetry dear Dorothy and I love "tickle the wings of bumble bees" and the conclusion is adorable. I agree with Joseph that it is "sweet and beautiful as any fairy tale", as while I was reading it, I thought children would really appreciate reading it too!
