Scavenger Hunt

Rainbows stretched across the sky,
Roses, frogs and dragonflies,

Yapping puppies, kittens puring,
Birds singing lullabies,

Cooing doves, a baby's sigh.
Soft cartooned clouds

That make you laugh,
first bears, tigers, then tall beautiful giraffes.

Pansies posing at the gate, with a frog
In top hat waiting for his fancy date.

Sunflowers and daffodils,
A bright red kite just over the hill.

Clouds and sunshine in warm embrace,
Spider webs spun like lace.

Butterflies all a flutter,
Sunbeams flowing like melted butter.

A scavenger hunt of blissful treasures
Filled with laughter without measure.

Play time, open to one and all,
Summer, winter, spring or fall.

Ah, Dorothy. What can I say? You truly have a poetic soul in tune with the wonders of nature. So many great moments packed into one piece. Let you in on a secret, I may no longer be young but I suspect you I are both still kids staring up at the clouds looking for funny shapes. It is a wonderful thing to lie on the grass watching clouds on a summer's day and find delight in using imagination to create funny images. Thank you for bringing these moments back for me!
