THIS MISSING

Oh body of winter's fierce discontent,
you who wove those years of adventure
by striding in pleasure's foreign continent.

Oh skin of a spring-ago's wanton wish,
you who delighted in new love's mystery
by seeking thrills from another's bold kiss.

Oh hillocks of once tasted ravishment,
you who rose proudly two taut banners
by firmly displaying in scenes of abandon.

Oh mound of refreshed velvet-softness,
you who seeded high pinnacled offering
by giving success to desire without costing.

Oh spirit within flesh's leaching distress,
you who can lift from deep grief to heaven
by feeding with acts long stored in memory.

Oh show all this missing love's way out,
you who opened the gate to late flowering.
