Somewhere in Time ~ pantoum

Postby Stella » Fri Feb 20, 2015 10:50 pm

Somewhere in time inside love’s persuasion
an enchanting smile said so many things
of wishing and hoping for an occasion
finding a soul mate the sharing of rings.

An enchanting smile said so many things
affection unspoken but never denied
finding a soul mate the sharing of rings
a partner for life to stand by your side.

Affection unspoken but never denied
both tenderly embracing new romance
a partner for life to stand by your side
a compelling and rapturous ardent chance.

Both tenderly embracing new romance
taking your wedding vows with pride
a compelling and rapturous ardent chance
you stand at the altar groom and bride.

Taking your wedding vows with pride
of wishing and hoping for an occasion
you stand at the altar groom and bride
somewhere in time inside love’s persuasion.

damn - this is clever Stella - never heard of a pantoum before never mind had the pleasure of reading one - and this was a pleasure to read. The loop back to the start with two of the lines from the first stanza appearing in the last is masterful and it chimes with the theme - the everlasting theme of the write. so cool this ...! bravo
thanks for sharing.
I was drawn to this immediately I saw the title - it is also the title of my favourite film starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour.

Yes, this is clever. I like this style. I may have to try it sometime.

The repeating lines in this beautiful pantoum are just wonderful, Stella. and that means every line of cause. A joy to read.

A stunning read of a special form Stella - - you capture the pantoume's requirements so well.

Oh, but that is just so beautifully and delicately written, Stella! An impressive write using such a fantastic form to really hone the message of love, Ma'am. How glorious it is to be so fluent in so many art forms, as you are, Stella.

Wonderfully composed and very much admired by me. The repeats enforce the theme so beautifully and I love how the first line becomes the last line at the conclusion Stella.
