Will You love Me Then

Postby Joseph Anderson » Mon Feb 23, 2015 4:40 pm

Will you love me , come the morrow
as you did in yesteryear,
for my heart is full of sorrow;
Tell me, tell me, my sweet dear.

If I falter when I'm walking
and my hair is gray and thin,
if I struggle when I'm talking,
will you love me, even then?

When I am weary, worn and bent,
with life's passions burned away
and earthly time is nearly spent;
Will you love me on that day?

Hush! My dear, I e'er shall love you,
come what pitfalls are in store;
Those precious vows, which I renew,
shall remain, forevermore.

Love's undying embers, how sweet it is.

The last line sums up the essence of this gentle poem...love's undying embers

A compelling and heartfelt write, Joseph. With love, true love, there is no doubt that the ardor shall remain.

An engaging and precious write with a beautiful conclusion. I adore the last stanza and the last line Joseph.

beautiful words Joseph from the true heart of romanticism that give me the same lovely feeling as Elizabeth Barrettt Browning as she counts the ways..
