You Knew.

That year
transported lonely to new dimensions.

You, beautiful man, sailed into frigidity and heaven's door
floated open, reducing to awe
my disbelief in soul-mate frequency.

Affection
shattered thick walls when shy thawed.

Warmth flooded the flat of un-expectancy as ardent bread
of attention fed avid hunger
while nectar nourished arid neglect.

That year
I felt frailty melt into healthy assurance.

Male-muscled intention broke through stupor and as need
awakened resistance crumpled
and acceptance disrobed the empty.

Banquets
of happiness were shared in each contact.

Your voice whispered gentle demise to any expiring doubt
that love could be mistaken,
for I, you said, was meant for desire.

That year
my heart delighted in love's acquisition.

You, caring man, had from afar unfolded deeper the ocean,
and yielding, the now tended
fruit ripened and outshone the sun.

You knew
dual pleasure can induce ready harvest.

Bespoken our fated union sparked a hoped-for conclusion,
love wanted so much to taste
late succulence and eat of its beauty.

Two stars
when collided will find bright location.

Denied time or place we found mortality had no dominion
over love's infinite brilliance
for you and I had adorned our future.

Beautiful man,
in that haven I shall be looking for you.

Beautifully sad. "If only´s" scream out from the heart. Poetry that hits this reader hard, dear Fay. I can read this over and over again.

Sad, with a touch of hope. It's beautiful.
