Lifting the Grey

It was one of those days
when the sky was dark grey
and my mood
seemed to match all around,
the dampness and the grey
seemed to linger all day
in a depressing
and sad sort of way,
I shuffled around
with my chin on the ground
and my head filled with
impending doom,
then a rainbow was formed
a bright arch in the sky
and it lifted the grey and the gloom.

Nice, Tom. There are those days when we feel down and glum, and yet one burst of color enlivens us and washes those blues away, sir.

As sensitive poets we can be affected by dark grey skies and your inspirational rainbow works a treat. On drab days if I am feeling down, I wear bright colous hoping it will help! (lol) I agree with Stella that your rhyme and rhythm poems are great Tom!

A lovely little poem. I am oh, so familiar with days like that. And they do seem to end with some kind of "rainbow" too. It just kind of slowly comes into view through the haze. :-)
