She Walks

She walks the shadows of the trees
Beneath their leafy canopies
When night is full, sometimes the moon
Her gown aflutter in the breeze

No soul can tell the reason why
She walks beneath the darkened sky
Among the deepest shadows there
Without a whisper or a sigh

She walks in silence, wearing white
With just the stillness of the night
Wrapped in her secrets, like a cloak
Just drifting in and out of sight

No one recalls the maiden's name
Or where it is from which she came
Just that she wanders there, alone
A gown of white, a ghostly flame.

A melodic flow and rhyme scheme that emphasizes a heightened haunted feel, Cindy. Poignant, and tinged with sadness...a beautiful write, indeed.
