When Eternity Calls

The time shall come for you, for all
when we shall take our final rest
and we should face that final call,
if we have live our life as blessed.

Did we search for truth each day,
could we laugh and shed a tear;
Were there friends along the way,
did we have and conquer fear?

Did we wrestle earthly greeds
and cross each bridge whereas it stood;
Did we fill some others needs
and smell sweet flowers in the woods?

Was there someone we could love,
who returned it every day;
Did the wondrous powers above
lend us courage on the way?

When our time has come to go
and life's joys and woes surcease;
We should then most surely know,
we shall have eternal peace.

Living life to the fullest

This is very well done, Joseph. The end line says it all.

Your questions certainly know what living life is all about, and as we grow older, we hopefully have lived our life to the fullest. A wonderfully composed poem which should have a wide readership so others can learn from your wisdom Joseph.

I had a bad day at work today. The boss was at his best too. But, while I read this poem, something eased inside me. Whatever it was, your poem worked for me.. A good write indeed..

A wise and inspiring piece. I believe that we only get one circuit of
the block, so we need to make the best we can of it whilst we are here.
