It's A Beautiful Morning

Morning sun rakes her fingers across the sky
wiping away the taste of the night before
turning off the twinkling stars one by one
a rainbow of colors dance thro' heaven's door.

A hue of honey yellow covered the morning
as she steps closer to the soft singing stream
her heart skipped beats when their eyes met
for he's the handsomest man she'd ever seen.

It's a beautiful morning she smiles laughingly
everyday his warming smile out shone the sun
his touch rekindled the fire the night they met
in her heart she knew he'd forever be that one.

The dewy meadow felt cool under her bare feet
as she strolls among the buttercups and clover
she knew that his love was the sweetest of loves
that her heart would never ever let her get over.

Its gonna be a beautiful day like all others days
she smiles her heart catapults into an endless flight
bursting into a continuous display of fireworks
to shine down on him to light up his satiny nights.

What a joy it is to find you on Stella's site and I love the imagery of the opening line, and how the imagery is beautiful throughout to the very last line. My mother used to sing the song 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning' and this is another reason I love your poem Bono.

This is such a pleasant piece of poetry. The imagery is delightful, and
it's so easy to read. To me, that is such an important point, as I love
the ones that make themselves known after the first reading. A real
pleasure.
