The Moonlit Garden

Postby Nishu » Tue Nov 04, 2014 1:27 pm

I found the moon
on a bed of flowers
With his beams
cast  in white
In a moonlit garden
that gleamed in silver
On a clear and cloudless
starry night

No reds stood proud
no tangerines
No purples
in royal sheen
Quiet greys
and blooms of whites
That tossed back
his ivory light

I found comfort
peace and calm
In darkness
that lent her charm
The greens warmed
by a streaming stole
And beauty
that heals the soul

Each day is lit
with the flaming sun
Yet loveliness
when the night comes
For what mysticism
and mysteries
Can the eyes
in darkness see

I love the idea of a night garden. One in which the plants are purposely chosen for the way they would look in the moonlight. Maybe I'll have one one day. Your poem is beautiful.

Such a beautiful tribute to the moon with glorious colors and imagery, and I feel blessed having the opportunity to dwell on moons loveliness and mystery thank you Nishu.
