Mother Dear (Pentaiku poem)

Postby Tom Balch » Wed Apr 01, 2015 10:56 pm

Hey! What the hell do you think you´re doing?

“I´m picking flowers
to put on my mother’s grave,
I miss her so much”

I´m so sorry, when did she pass away?

“It was in the fall
when winters coldness hit hard
she was old and frail”

And how did she die, was it peacefully?

“She died in her sleep
they say she was happy though
when she passed away”

How could she have been happy when she died?

“It was the vodka
eleven bottles she drank
never knew a thing”

Eleven bottles; you´re having a laugh?

“That´s what they said, mate
it was to keep out the cold
she liked a tipple”

Was she always a drinker, your mother?

“Well, not always, no
she only drank in winter
to keep out the cold”

Did she not drink during the summer months?

"No, but she smoked though
sixty a day she was on,
made her cough a lot"

I should think so, sixty a day you say?

"Yep! and that´s not all
she also had a toy boy
like rabbits they were"

How old was she then your dear old mother?

"Ninety four she was
and fit as a fiddle too,
till she died that is"

Did you not just say she was old and frail?

"You´d be frail too mate
after eleven bottles,
sex and sixty fags"

I´ll help, how many flowers do you want?
