When The Flowers Bloom (Pentaiku)

How can it be that the earth holds its breath?

the clouds grow darker
and the earth waits silently
Ridged, expecting

Is that why the trees and grass are so still?

even the birds know
and have stopped their sweet singing
the world is silent

The storm will come. Can you hear the thunder?

rodents take cover
they snuggle themselves away
distant rain whispers

Yes, listen. Can you tell me what it says?

the rain holds secrets
as it murmurs cryptic words
only the trees know

Tell me, when will the secrets be revealed?

when flowers bloom
flooding the hills with color
surely, they will tell.

Cindy, this pentaiku is well penned my friend and a very worthy addition to Tom's challenge.

I really enjoyed your chosen conversational subject and the closing lines i thought were the perfect answer.
