First Flush.

From her first flush Spring trumpets,
with full throated daffodil-gold,
vibrant welcome to her lover
with tunes which birds warble over
time and again before Summer's
whispering growth to meadows
makes every cherry tree blush
in floral shyness and each rose
stir in its unopened bud
prepared for petal-composing.

A royal affair like this owns
to changes by the hundred
and though Spring's best melodies blow
pale welcome to Ol' Sol's coming
suppressed hues win but she knows
they must lose to her King's bold
love of extravagant colour.

Beautiful transition Fay of the delicacy of spring then blooming into the full flush of summer hues..

A delightful spring write and and a stunning presentation with the picture. I love your opening lines and the meaningful use of color that evolves
throughout the poem thank you Fay.

A truly beautiful curtain raiser to summer. I love the way your clever
lines toll together, and the imagery is mesmerizing. Loved the line
'Spring Trumpets' I commented on one of Stella's earlier, and I must
admit that I'm getting confused by the titles. I thought you had gone
into comedy when I saw the title. Then again, I thought Stella had
gone all smutty. Ha Ha

An outstanding write, dear Fay, singing of the glories found in Spring, which is nearly upon us....though, I must admit, it did snow here last night. The beauty and warmth of Spring surely must make an entrance, and soon, or I fear I'll wither away soon, Ma'am.
