Making for the Way Stone

Crystal clear the water runs
around the rocks midstream,
reflected sunlight dances bright
as in some kaleidoscopic dream.

Chunks of wool hang on fences
rising high up in the hills,
floating on the thermal winds
hawks are seeking out their kills.

The track winds upwards to the peak
telling natureĀ“s tale with every stride,
the more it climbs the more it shares
and not a secrete will it hide.

The ancient lichen covered way stone
tells at last the peak is reached,
stood on a plinth of weathered rock
in a sea of heather bleached.

Sat looking back the way I came
sweet memories of the day
are dancing wildly through my mind
shared with the stone that showed the way.

I love the rhyme and flow of this majestic outing you've shared with us, Tom. It sings so well and moves so smoothly, sir. Grand imagery that puts me in the scene, and that also speaks to me about reflecting on the journey we've endured in life.

Very beautiful. I love scenes like this. Even finer in a poem. I could see it like I was there myself and it's my memory instead of something I read.

This could well be a portrayal of one of my favourite haunts. Mount
Snowdon and the Llanberis Pass. Wonderfully constructed Tom .
