The Forget-Me-Not Two Words

(Incremental Refrain Poem)

Like a lifeboat washed out to sea
the two words I need elude me.
I swim with freestyle to find them
but they slip and sail awash, far
far distant from reason’s grasp.

My head begins to pound thought waves
to spume a whirlpool of seaweed
and strangle the flowing current
as the two words spin away, far
far into sea’s eventide.

I float on opalescent sea
beyond horizon's silver cord
as moon crochets shimmering stars
to swish, lift and spill her train, far
far over waters warm lap.

The moon moves to tide's rising swell
her luminous eyes blink deeply
soft blue to turquoise kingfisher
studded with crystals delving, far
far down into the sea's deep bed.

Moon’s serene eyes rise from the depths
as she moves her golden crescent
to ripples that are crinkling
to beam like crystal cut glass, far
far way across briny sea.

A hooked bottle drops in my arms
blue forget-me-not blooms inside.
Your drowned knight threw this love posy.
Lost words, "eternal love," moon beams.
always float past cord’s silver, far

far back to your remembering.

An opulent read, with such stunning and perfect imagery to portray the scene and those feelings we must deal with, Karin. We find ourselves with tears flowing and yet we smile, too, when reminiscing about a lost love that we experienced, upon a time, Ma'am. Such a beautiful means of expressing this, Ma'am.

Karin you never fail to arouse all the romance of beautifully readable poetry and this sparkles with shimmering imagery to help readers see love's wonderfully lasting music and the number you chose just could not be bettered.
