Day's Edge.

Postby Fay Slimm » Mon Apr 27, 2015 9:53 pm

Image

Stars like sparks splutter to bed
as birds catch fire.
Smut-red lips of sultry sun kiss
mouldering night
and in dawn's shimmering light
greet lightening sky.
Throat of thrush flintily strikes
other bird-minds,
inciting song while edge of day's
eye sets more alive
morning's explosions to electrify
small tongues in flight.
I stand dumbly listening to trills
of every tiny
winged songster, who self un-fed
food must soon find
if newest nestlings are to survive.
Day's edge reminds
serenaders of unfeathered needs.
