Finding Me

Postby Stella » Thu Apr 30, 2015 11:25 am

Image

Just in that moment when
sleep washes over the shore of night’s horizon.

Just as the serenity of my mind
flows freely on meditative waters.

It is always in that moment that you come to me.

All the thoughts I have and words I want to say
that I had banished from my conscious self
come tumbling around me.

They echo in my dreams until I awaken,
forbidden tears then stain my pillow

You always knew where to find me
in the vulnerable silence of my nights

This is so moving and beautiful. I love the last two lines.

The pain in this piece hits the reader hard, Stella. Love the line "forbidden tears then stain my pillow" makes the poem perfect.

This really pulls at the heartstrings with such emotive and incredible imagery. Also The picture adds to the pathos the poem evokes for me Stella and "they echo in my dreams until I awaken" really did it for me.

Amazing imagery and wordplay Stella. This is such an emotional
piece. A delight to read.

A moving and beautiful write that speaks to those feelings we suppress during our waking hours, Stella. Alas, we are confronted by that which we had hoped to keep tamped down and tucked away until such a time comes along when we believe we can better deal with those emotions. A most exquisite write, Ma'am.
