Touch My Heart
You spoke to me with your eyes
then before I knew it I loved you
when did you first touch my heart
was it through your sigh,your smile.
Light of love in your eyes shimmer
offer showers of warm illumination
unlocks my life with an invisible key
where a welcoming lite burns bright.
You paint rainbows upon the night
hanging moon and stars within reach
rays of sunlight decorated every step
skillfully placed to keep out the chill.
I count heartbeats when you're gone
searching for ways to speed up time
when we're together I put up barriers
wanting to keep you near for eternity.
