Flaming Railings

Postby Tom Balch » Mon May 18, 2015 9:28 pm

I had to cut the railings
that circumnavigate the pool
making way for all the new walls
and I used my favourite tool,
'twas my trusty angle grinder
and boy the sparks did fly
until they caught my tee shirt
and I began to fry.

Throwing down the angle grinder
my shirt went up in flames
I ripped it from my body
but not before the burning pains,
I rushed into the bathroom
and soaked my skin with water cold
the pain it was unbearable; me thinks
that for this kind of work I am too old.

I then cut and peeled some aloe vera
and rubbed it on my burning skin
it eased the pain a little
but I also took some Anadin,
after half an hour
the pain was really getting worse
so I went to the medical centre
to get it treated by the nurse.

I´m back at home and resting now
and feeling so much better
the pain has gone but my skin´s still red
as a postal box containing letters;
I´ve put away the angle grinder
and I´ve finished for the day
I´ll start again tomorrow
but in a different flaming way.

Wow - - Tom what a ghastly experience - - you are in a nightmare of happenings with all these alterations - wishing you better real soon and a helping hand with all that heavy and dangerous grinding. Do take more care dear friend.
