I delight in watching butterflies play
just like fairies dancing on a flower
such a treat on a hot summer’s day
Ecstatically whiling my time away
lazing in a sweetly fragranced bower

As summer breezes blow the roses sway,
perfect petals refreshed then by a shower
such a treat on a hot summer’s day
Forgetting all else I just want to stay
kissed by fluttering wings hour after hour
I delight in watching butterflies play
In coloured profusions so pretty and gay
above me enchanted wisteria tower
such a treat on a hot summer’s day
Quivering wings dance a sparkled display
proclaiming the magic of nature’s power.
