Enwomb

Postby Nightmute » Thu May 21, 2015 9:51 pm

Oh sun, oblate.
You mark me with your scouring eye,
envelop me, wholly, in beaming arms of succor.

Why seekest thou to undo my sorrow?

How the essence of your heat
bubbles furiously in my soul!

Wake me not, I plead.
Night's blanket enfolds
and nurtures my anguish.
Why, now, must the face
of the sun be let to burst upon my bosom?

If tears must exist, must be spilled,
may they manifest fully within thine own eye,
and not mine, ever again.

Please. Oh, please, may mine own eyes
remain desert-dry, for the moisture is much
more than I can hope to endure, again. Forever.

Oh Richard this is sadness indeed, wishing to remain cocooned in your darkness and anguish.

I love the way it is the sun that is tempting you back into the light , but you will not be swayed into its warm arms...

A beautifully sad write my friend.

The pathos of words such as these burns into the reader -- the saddest of wishes scorch the page Richard - - this has to be one of your very best. A haunt of a beautiful read.

So full of misery, yet quite beautiful too. I love the desperation in this poem.

A most riveting write that has me on the edge of my chair and this could have been written by the great masters of poetry. Even though it is lamentable, I admire the tragic passion it evokes, and I feel honored to have had the pleasure to read it Richard.

I love the way in which you have written this piece. Full of
sadness and loss. Sometimes even the sunshine cannot
work her wonders on the human spirit.
