When Sagacity Strums Her Ever-Luvin' Lute

Postby Nightmute » Tue Jun 02, 2015 7:01 pm

Less is more than not enough
while too much is a waste.
Handfuls held in fists tight clenched
leave lovers feeling chaste.

Spoons of different lengths and size
are fit to not be near,
and disharmony, whose notes bereave,
brings naught but tears, I fear.

Wisdom horded and never shared
takes root in rot, beware.
But given freely, an antidote
to all who'd have a care.

So, less than more will still suffice,
and contentment can be known.
Some give and take can mean the night
is never spent alone.
(We gather what we've rightly sown).

Ah -this must be one of your best lute-strummers to date Richard - - a wonderful medley of word-twisting fun to leave us with means to spend the night lovin' -- you have packed the poem with gems which we all want to read again and again - - my favourite line has to be -- Wisdom horded and never shared takes root in rot. - - what a delightful verse from a wordsmith who teaches sagacity with every sentence.

Well i always think enough is sufficient and i like the phrases you
have written in wonderful rhyming flow Richard, also the alternative concluding line.

I love the line - "Less is more than not enough." It's a very beautifully written poem.
