Shadow on the Wall

Postby SyberRose » Fri Jun 05, 2015 11:07 pm

She hears music playing; her shadow on the wall
waiting to be asked to the shadow ball
It has been so long since an arm around her waist
dancing cheek to cheek as fingers interlace
She lights a jasmine candle and places it by her side
Waiting for another shadow while she dances teary eyed
The flame begins to dance within the naked night
enticing each other as they tango and incite
Spinning and twirling around the candlelit room
sweet fragrance seduces as love begins to bloom
Wick of night disappears in the midnight hour
One shadow dancing; a lonely wallflower
Always to be a solo ballerina.
never to tango to a concertina

A beautiful sadness envelops the reader whilst waltzing with the wistful imagery you provide, SR. You convey the loneliness and longing to dance with a partner so well, Ma'am.

Very nicely expressed, a sweet bitter write of emotions flowing deeply.

A beautiful, albeit a sad piece well penned.

Welcome SyberRose. This is a lovely piece of poetry. Your
imagery is a delight, and the balance of the lines is great.
The reader can experience the loneliness . Well Done.
