Squawking birds,
Sweating horses,
Desperate farmers,
All waiting
Impatiently,
For some quick respite
From the heat.
The monsoons,
Have been playing
Truant for too long.
City folk,
Have their rain wear
Ready to be used,
But no luck.
Clear blue skies,
Every morning
Not a cloud in sight
Worse still the
Stifling heat
Rising mercury
Raise concerns.
Moreover,
The weather bureau's
Cautious rain forecasts
Bring no cheer
Only more fears
Of a bad monsoon.
Let us pray.
May our fears
Be unfounded,
May Rain Gods shower
Their blessings
Bringing respite
Across the country
From the heat...
