Special Moments

Have you ever tried to save a special moment
to trap it inside your heart and keep it safe?
That second when a dragonfly wing shimmers
as it dances in purple hues across the water,
you could never paint the enchantment it brought,
and words could never describe its beauty.
The first time a special someone smiled at you
and his eyes held you captive never looking away.
The touch of his hand when it brushed against yours
you could feel the warmth of him he was so close
When you were first aware that winter could be lovely,
the icy spider webs were so beautiful and intricate,
those snowflakes could be fairies dancing in the air
and snow was akin to a beautiful diamante carpet.
The moment when you knew you were not a child,
you could grasp your dreams and fulfil them.
The special moment of your realisation that you were rich
and your riches went far beyond the wealth of money.
