Midnight Tide ~ a Pantoum

Hush, quiet now midnight tide I hear you
as you lap on the shores of my dreams,
soft stolen whispers below indigo blue
kissing and lulling each ripple that gleams.

As you lap on the shores of my dreams
sapphire stars glisten on tears I have cried,
kissing and lulling each ripple that gleams.
Slow teasing waves entice, then ebb on the tide

Sapphire stars glisten on tears I have cried,
they ride on white horses deep into the night.
Slow teasing waves entice, then ebb on the tide
atop with moonbeams before morning light

They ride on white horses deep into the night,
soft stolen whispers below indigo blue
atop with moonbeams before morning light.
Hush, quiet now midnight tide I hear you

I can almost hear the tide lapping in this beautifully descriptive write, and I love "they ride on white horses deep into the night." What makes your poem even more beautiful is that every line in a pantoum repeats. I use to wonder why the lines repeat, and found out back in the 15th century it would have been recited to an audience, and listeners would hear the poem in the first hearing. So this spellbinding pantoum will stay with me for a very long time thank you Stella.

The verse is quite hypnotic and captivating, Stella...one can feel the ebb and flow of the tide in your beautifully descriptive lines. The accompanying picture is wonderful and fits perfectly with this write, Ma'am.
