Father's Day

Postby Sandra Martyres » Sun Jun 21, 2015 12:09 pm

Remembering Dad on Father's Day.......
I wish our Poet friends on justforyou poetry a very Happy Father's Day...
******************************************************************
I flipped through the pages
Of Dad's little black book,
I'd preserved carefully.
A prized possession, with
Meticulous jottings,
Written in his own hand.

His many one-liners
Bring tears, as I recall
His rich baritone voice,
Reciting them in style.
Dad was one of a kind,
A truly unique guy.

His language skills, patience,
His keen sense of humour
And above everything,
His generosity
Will not be forgotten,
By all those who knew him.

He's been gone a long time,
Yet his legacy remains.
My siblings and I were
So lucky, to be blessed
With a Father like him.
May his soul rest in peace.

A very moving tribute to a well loved father - your words so carefully woven are a reminder that a father who tries to rear his children with love in his heart will stay there for always - - a delight to read this worthy poem dear friend.

A beautiful tribute to a father who was, and remains, well loved, Sandra. May each of us leave such a wonderful legacy behind so that our children, family, and friends are the better for having known us, Ma'am.

Having a positive impact on the lives of those around us speaks volumes of the quality of the person who can leave such a legacy, my friend. I can tell that your father was a person who made a positive and beautiful impact upon those he met and knew. God bless you, Sandra.
