Summer Skies

Image

As lazy, seamless summer skies
drift easy over daydream eyes
sun basking tree-tops gently sway
to keep the would-be clouds away
for time has no position here
the hour is neither far or near.

My thoughts are mute, there is no sound
‘cept maybe for a whisper found
In breath that barely seeks to live,
that could at any moment give
my heart and soul the freedom key
to easy drift and leave this me.

Those lazy, seamless summer skies
would tempt me to a world that lies
somewhere within my grasp to find
a place devoid of all mankind;
In perfect peace where nothing dies
beyond those seamless summer skies.

I too really enjoyed reading this. The first line's lovely alliteration captured me from the start and I love the peace it brings, and the scope it makes and admire how you have crafted it Stella.
