Meadow Flowers

They wheel her out onto the terrace
to feel the sun and breath fresh air,
wrapped up in blankets just in case
and after only a few moments the
sun upon her face warm and sweet
lets her drift and fall to sleep.

Dreams of childhood come to fore
the buttercup and daisy games,
yellow circles under children's chins
longest chain of daisy's ever seen,
the meadow flowers small and bright
lead her gently to the light...

A touching sigh of a poem illustrating an instant of gentle, yet transcendent, transition.

Tears came to my eyes when I reached the second stanza as I love buttercups and daisy chains. The tenderness
you show really touches my soul, and is bittersweet with the life that has ceased to be, yet sweet with the beauty
of your words Tom.
