You Never Knew

Postby Lynda Robson » Fri Nov 07, 2014 11:55 am

You never knew
The torch I held for you
I tried to hold your gaze
But failed,
I tried to send you
Knowing looks
But all the while
I was invisible to you
Just a friend
To lean on.
And as time went by
I knew that it was hopeless
You would never look at me
The way I looked at you..
So words were unspoken
And when you went away
I cried
Thinking of what could have been.

I've been there. Life goes that way sometimes. Nice poem.

What will be will be sadly sometimes Lynda, and maybe it was really for the best..

You have poured your heart and soul and I think this has happened to many of us. Life goes on but we can bring back memories through poetry we can all share with one another, to help us through our journey Lyda.

A cry which tears at the heartstrings Lynda - how things would have been we never know - but we can dream when life deals us no-go. A wistful write with your usual honesty my dear friend. Thanks for sharing.
