Shadows.

It is loneliness,
buffered by stillness
gives the dark edge to shadow.

Companionship,
stretching to give,
opens exchange of locked souls.

To dance without
movement burdens
when limbs are never relieved.

Hunger for laughter
demands to be fed
by speech unafraid of freedom.

Lip service only
submerges the spirit
behind friendship's meant style.

Taste of another's
self-expression melts
sour seeds of stifling silence.

Loneliness and stillness can sometimes be scary, an expressive and a meaningful write.

Excellent words so full of meaning and making one think - quite dark but so true

Like this, Fay. The opening stanza is probably the one I like the most. A real attention grabber, and oh so true.
