Father, thank you for the rain You've sent,
to quench our dried out soil of earth;
somber clouds that covered us, just as a tent,
our downcast hopes, have turned to mirth.
Thanks for all the moisture that we need,
we send our gratitude for drops that fall;
giving strength and life to every seed,
we praise Your holy name, creator of it all.
We are the able stewards of the land,
eagerly awaiting; the tears of heaven's eyes;
caretakers in God's great and mighty hand,
underneath the ceiling of His misty skies.
Thank You Father, for this day of being,
and for those we love and cherish;
thank You Father; you open up our eyes for seeing,
so we might know Your word and not perish.
Once, I never knew just what the day would bring,
uncertain of the road that I would take;
now, I worry not, because Your knowledge makes me sing,
and what I strive to do, I do so for Your sake.
