The Caress ~ haibun

Postby Stella » Mon Jul 31, 2017 8:07 pm

I sat on the harbour wall watching the setting sun
bleed red into the ocean, and then the glow of twilight
bless the boats as they gently pulled and bobbed about
in their lazy, sleepy way.
You came to me in the fullness of a midnight tide, ran
your kindly fingers through my hair, kissed my tired eyes
and then you were gone again in a moment as the tide
turned and began to ebb away; even before I could reach
out the angels took you back home again.

Red flames of sunset
so transitory yet warm
an evening caress

This is a beautiful haibun, Stella. I've thought about writing a haibun, but haven't gotten around to it. I'll have to try one soon. Yours is very well written.

Hi Cindy, and thank you.

I have written only a few of these , but found them very enjoyable to create :)
