Watching My Father Die

Postby Cindy » Mon Mar 16, 2020 1:13 pm

Death can wither the living, slowly.
Leading the way across a dark canyon as it blights.

Deterioration spreads, gaunt and apparent.
Face and limbs shrivel with receding life.

The tide has turned. We watch it ebb.
The recognition is stark against soft memories.

The view of this dark cavern startles with ferocity.
It gapes with the knowledge of the coming void.

So sad my friend, and even worse when you know that nothing can be done to alleviate the pain.
Loss and grieving is part of living i suppose , but when it s someone close it hurts :(
